The Peterson Institute for International Economics (PIIE) is a private, nonprofit, nonpartisan research institution devoted to the rigorous and intellectually open study of international economic policy. Since 1981, we have identified and analyzed a wide range of international economic challenges, policy approaches, and practical ideas to help make globalization beneficial and sustainable for the people of the United States and the world. In 2018, PIIE won Prospect Magazine's Best Economic and Financial Think Tank Award for the third year in a row.

At Peterson, I write on issues including natural resource governance, food security and global food markets, and more traditional security issues. You can check out my thoughts on issues ranging from the Trans-Pacific Partnership to China's Belt and Road here. Here's video of Marcus Noland's and my book release event in June, 2014.
